Internship in Nicaragua by ODESAR

Nach einer langen und wilden Abschiedsfeier in Mexico, kam ich am Sonntagmittag in Nicaragua, Managua an. Ich wurde glücklicherweise von einem Fahrer der Organisation ODESAR am Flughafen abgeholt und zu meinem neuen Zuhause in Matagalpa gefahren. Obwohl Nicaragua nur drei Flugstunden von Mexiko entfernt ist, ist das Klima humider. Da ich nicht geschlafen habe, war die einundhalbstündige Fahrt im Auto mit dem neugierigen Fahrer sehr anstrengend.

In meinem neuen Zuhause angekommen, wurde ich freundlich und herzlich empfangen. Die Familie, bei der ich wohne, hat sogar mein Zimmer neu gestrichen und renoviert!

Der Unterschied zwischen europäischen und den Verhältnissen hier ist sehr gross. Jeder, der einmal in Zentralamerika war, weiss das.

Am Montag hatte ich meinen ersten Arbeitstag in der Organisation ODESAR. Ich habe ein Video gemacht, ich hoffe es gefällt euch.

In dieser Organisation mache ich ein zwei-monatiges Praktikum für mein Studium BSc Ernährung und Diätetik an der BFH in der Schweiz. Ich werde mich im Bereich Ernährung in der Organisation engagieren und hoffe, dass ich etwas zur Verbesserung der heutigen Situation in Nicaragua beitragen kann.

After a long and wild farewell-party in Mexico I arrived at Sundaynoon in Nicaragua, Managua. Fortunately, I got picked up at the airport by a driver of the organisation ODESAR, who brought me to my new home in Matagalpa. Even though Nicaragua is only three flying hours away of Mexico, there's a big difference if you notice the climate: it's more humid. The one and a half hour car-journey with the curious driver was really exhausting, because I didn't sleep the night before.

Arrived at my new home, I got warmthly welcomed. The family, at who's house I'm living at, actually repainted my room!

The difference between the European and the relations here are huge. Every person who has once been to Central America knows that.

Last Monday I had my first working day with the organisation ODESAR. I made you a video, I hope you'll like it.

I'm doing an internship at ODESAR for two months for my studies in nutrition and dietetics in Switzerland. I'm going to engage myself in the field of nutrition and hope that I will be able to contribute to an increase of the today's situation in Nicaragua.

Después de una larga y salvaje despedida de los amigos en México llegué el domingo por el medio dìa a Nicaragua, Managua. Afortunadamente, me recogió en el aeropuerto un conductor de la organización ODESAR, quien me trajo a mi nuevo hogar en Matagalpa. A pesar de que Nicaragua está a sólo tres horas de vuelo de distancia de México pero hay una gran diferencia del clima: es más húmedo y se nota más calor. Un viaje en coche de dos horas con el conductor fue realmente agotado, porque yo no dormí nada en la noche anterior. Al llegar a mi nuevo hogar, me dijeron bienvenida. La familia en su casa que estoy viviendo han repintado mi habitación! La diferencia entre el europeo y las relaciones aquí son enormes. Toda persona que alguna vez haya estado en Centro América lo sabe. El lunes pasado tuve mi primer día de trabajo con la organización ODESAR. Hice un videon para tener una idea, espero que les guste. Estoy haciendo una pasantía en ODESAR durante dos meses para mis estudios en la nutrición y dietética en Suiza. Voy a participar a mí mismo en el campo de la nutrición y la esperanza de que voy a ser capaz de contribuir a un aumento de la situación de hoy en Nicaragua. Te diré más ... estar emocionado!
